The Western Ghats are a UNESCO biodiversity hotspots and Goa has notified 3 wildlife sanctuaries in this area. The Bhagvan Mahaveer wildlife Sanctuary is the largest of these is a 240 square kilometres protected area located in the Western Ghats of West India, in Sanguem taluk, Goa State, along the eastern border with Karnataka. The area is situated near the town of Molem, 57 kilometres east of Panaji and about 70 km from the famous North Goa beach belt. Composed of forest with evergreen, semi evergreen trees with a closed forest canopy. We have guided day Jeep safari in this area passing through varied Forrest types & terrain.
